Ash Wood Gentle and round sound. Light colors, round staccato. Light increase in response. Overall sound richer in harmonics.
Walnut Warm, dense sound. Moderate increase of resistance. Sparkling, but overall round staccato.
Beech Wood The all-rounder. High increase in resistance. Full, centered sound. Sharp staccato and increase in response. Overall sound rich in harmonics.
Cherry Wood Powerful, massive sound. Very high increase in resistance. Crystal-clear articulation and faster response. Tone center is very dark and focused.
