From the Publisher
Water Variations was written in Lampedusa, a very little island between Sicily and Tunisia. The very fluid character of the melody comes from the feeling that you would have living inside the sea, with a very expressive ending with the melody sung and the flute playing a background tremolo. Galante performed this piece for the first time at the NFA Convention in Chicago in 1997.
