Voi, che sapete from Mozart’s opera Le nozze di Figaro is sung by the character Cherubino. This part is known as a “pants” role, meaning it is a female singer playing a male character. Cherubino, a peasant boy, meets Susanna and the Countess in a garden and is coerced into singing a love song that he wrote. The love song asks whether or not Cherubino is experiencing feelings of love.
