“Attractive!”
This Tango Americano is quite delightful. It has a lively energy underpinned by a driving guitar part which allows the flute to scamper up and down in between a simple melody. Never straying out of a comfortable note range and with easy rhythms in D minor this is as attractive to play as it is to listen to.

A newer style of tango, Tango Americano, has been popularised in the last 20 years by composer Christopher Caliendo. The music is often quite open and very passionate, combining American jazz with the African candombe and Argentine milonga. The American Tango of Christopher’s is often choreographed with those who enjoy dancing to jazz and techno-tinged ‘alternative tango’ music, in addition to traditional tango compositions. Ven a mis Brazos is a fiery tango capturing a dance to the death between a Spaniard and an Italian for a woman they mutually love.
