The Valse di Bravura, Op. 33 by Franz and Karl Doppler, orchestrated for two flutes and orchestra by Jukka-Pekka Lehto at the request of Patrick Gallois. The brothers Doppler were born in Lemberg (modern Lvov, Ukraine), Franz in 1821, Karl in 1825. They toured extensively throughout Europe, often giving concerts alongside operatic soloists. Hence, many of their compositions are fantasies or variations based on songs from famous operas of the time. This particular composition is one entirely of their own and was originally composed for two flutes and piano.
