From the Publisher

Instead of working on close-to-the-noise acoustic phenomenon and explore its physical features, I rather choose to build the sound world of this piece with totally classical materials (scales, trills, dynamics, arpeggios...). And therefore, it was just about to draw my imagination from this material towards an inspiring world ready to meet the sound, the breath, the windiness, the acceleration, the attacks, the echo and repetitions.

The flute is one of the most volubile instrments and I intentionally developed this characteristic on an almost electro-acoustic dimension. The instruments are also often used as a sound mass, as compact object that can sometimes crack.

The title ' Upon the wind' suggests my first concern which runs all along this piece through this question: what is upon the wind?
