This new edition of John La Montaine's Twelve Studies for Two Flutes, Opus 46, has been newly re-engraved and includes an extra copy of the score (One for each player, or also for adjudication). These twelve studies, although intended to be played from beginning to end can be extracted and performed separately at the discretion of the performers. Written in the style of 12-tone serialism, these duets are an interesting exercise in what can be done with the theoretical manipulation of the tone rows used. While not as tuneful as some of John La Montaine's other compositions, they are a good example of his experimentation with other compositional styles.Item Details
