From the Publisher

Flute Trio – 2 flutes and Alto flute - This trio was written in 1902, and clearly pays homage to the French suites of Bach. The Introduction is flowing, with rich chromatic harmonies. The Double Fugue is an extremely clever contrapuntal piece using just three melodic lines. This is followed by a flowing and ornate Sarabande, before a witty Rigaudon and Musette brings the work to a sparkling close. This arrangement needs neat work from all players. All parts share equally in the melodic material, and while none do particularly high (top F/G), there are some tricky florid passages that will require co-ordination. Some more unusual time signatures slightly complicate things, but confidant players of around grade 7 standard will be able to gain a lot from this piece.
