“Beautifully Meandering Duets”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
Gary Schocker is a prolific composer and much of his output is of a very high quality. These interesting duets are no exception and they fully capture the essence of their roots. For the most part each duet evokes the flavour of the east in a gentle style - only Cheerful and Summer Jasmine are speedy - and they meander beautifully. They are all pleasantly short, leaving you wanting more.
From the Publisher
As a follow-up to his Traditional Japanese Melodies for two flutes, Schocker here presents his duo arrangements of ten Taiwanese folk tunes. The selections reflect a broad range of moods and colors, with titles such as Torn Fishing Net, Grief, and Longing. For advanced flutists.
