“A show-stopper!”
If you want a show-stopper for your flute choir then this excellent Chaminade arrangement is probably for you. It's full of brilliant sounding runs in the upper flutes and agile articulation in the basses which gives forward momentum from the start. It's fast, it's furious, it's exciting and it's short - perfect!
From the Publisher
Although primarily known by flute players for her important Concertino, Op. 107, Cécile Chaminade was a brilliant pianist with nearly 200 compositions for the instrument published during her lifetime. This Toccata, Op. 39, is a virtuosic show-piece featuring a perpetual stream of 16th notes over a light and bubbly accompaniment. Here, it is arranged for flute choir by Nicholas Buonanni.
