From the Publisher

This Intermezzo was composed for the 3rd Annual Sul Ross State University Wind Ensemble Composition, and was selected as a winning entry. It’s premier performance was on the 7th of May 2015 at the Marshall Auditorium, Alpine, Texas.  With a gracious and slightly nostalgic beginning, the piece builds in energy and pace, leading to a triumphal finale. This piece has an effective and rare combination of flowing lyrical melodies with an almost military-like feeling towards the mid and latter sections;  partly inspired by the excitement and power of American marching bands, as the piece was composed for an American University ensemble.
