From the Publisher
"Stazione di Roma Termini" is my third commissioned work for the flute ensemble group Fiore. Unlike previous works, this time, they requested to use alto and bass clarinet. Its based upon scenes I observed in Italy.
Termini is the central train station and a door to all of Rome. The name came from Thermae Diocletiani's ruin (the Baths of Diocletian) located nearby. Termini also means terminus (English) but has nothing to do with name of the station. As I spent six days walking around near the station, it is my little memoir. (Satoshi Yagisawa)
