“Wonderful!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
Boehm had virtually stopped composing original works by the time he sent his new alto flute to Dorus in 1863, but he arranged this Schubert song to promote the instrument. It was not published during his lifetime and the manuscript was kept privately until recently. As you might expect, the writing is totally suited to the instrument and the song is very sensitively treated. What a wonderful addition to a recital this would be!
