From the Publisher

"Father of St. Louis Ragtime" Tom Turpin (1871-1922) was a St. Louis pianist and the keeper of the Rosebud Saloon, which was often frequented by Scott Joplin and other ragtime pioneers. Turpin was the first African-American to have ragtime music published, and this tune dates back to 1903. A detached style throughout along with exaggerated dynamics and accents make this piece great fun to perform, as well as an audience-pleaser. For intermediate to advanced players.
