Jules Demersseman (1833 - 1866) was one of the best flutists of his time. He also wrote about 150 works for flute most of which are now forgotten. The sonata in C minor composed in the classical sonata form emphasizes on melodic terms, flute and piano present themselves as equal partners. Difficulty: upper intermediate.
