“ A crowd pleaser!”

Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]

This set of 20 variations on a familiar G minor melody makes a great introduction to the wonderful world of trio sonatas. Theme and variations is a much less common form for this type of writing which makes it really interesting. The adagio theme becomes progressively more elaborate with good interplay between the two flutes, and the mix of speeds and time keeps the very basic harmonic structure engaging throughout. The keyboard part has also been imaginatively realised. It's wonderful to play and a real crowd pleaser!
