From the Publisher

Giuseppe Sammartini, the "London Sammartini", has been overshadowed by his younger brother Giovanni Battista, the "Milan Sammartini", unjustly so, as is proven by this Trio Sonata. Like a number of other works from this period, this Trio Sonata, first published in 1730, illustrated the topic "music between Baroque and Classicism" more vividly than a thousand words.
