From the Publisher
A mixed bag of styles in this Classical sonata - the first movement is in typical Classical style, the poignant second movement is reminiscent of CPE Bach, and the jolly 3rd movement anticipates Rossini.
J.G. Graeff (1762 - 1829) was a pupil of Haydn and a friend of Clementi. Originally composed for the flute in 1790 whilst Graeff was living in London, it was published as his op.5 no.1.
