Our Description
Camillo Schumann's (1872 - 1946) catalogue of works includes more than 300 compositions of which only 60 have been published in printed form (mainly organ pieces, but none of his great chamber music works). Considering the high musical quality of the flute sonata presented here, we can well regard it as one of the standard works of the romantic flute repertoire. The rich-sounding piano setting and the skillful, flute-specific design of the solo part make studying this piece a real pleasure.
