From the Publisher

Composed in 2016 on commission from Joe Lulloff, Pann’s Sonata is a 23-minute monument in 4 movements. The work was inspired by both the saxophone music of late composer William Albright and by Joe’s particular blend of finesse and brutality accompanied by an unparalleled command of the instrument. The movements are titled, I. This Black Cat, II. Three Songs Without Words, III. Cuppa Joe, IV. Epilogue: Lacrimosa in memory of Joel Hastings.

Movements

I. This Black Cat - II. Three Songs Without Words (1. Reverie - 2. Soaring - 3. Consolation) - III. Cuppa Joe - IV. Epilogue: Lacrimosa in memory of Joel Hastings
