“Have fun!”
If you are open to the idea of classics such as the JS Bach D minor Toccata being given a jazz make-over this book will fascinate you. Starting with something approaching the original, each one then develops its own new identity. The Bach Badinerie lends itself to swing really easily whilst Senor Simonor, the new version of a Chopin Waltz, is more challenging. They are all great to play and it can be really interesting to see new ways with familiar favourites. What Paganini would have made of it all is anyone's guess. The standout is Monti's Czardas - have fun!
From the Publisher
The fact that classical music and jazz are not mutually exclusive is proven by the new volume in the popular series by Uwe Korn: For the tune book, 10 classical themes have been carefully arranged for flute and piano and made into jazz pieces for two. Great fun to play.
