“A breath of fresh air!”
These arrangements of Grieg's six dances by the incomparable Mel Orriss will really take you the mountains! The music is simple, appealing and playable and the flutes have been used with care to reflect the original lightness of texture. If you have alto and bass flutes then the colours are obviously more varied but four or five C flutes will work just as well, making this a very enjoyable experience for everyone. A breath of fresh air at any time!

From the Publisher
Edvard Grieg based many compositions on an extensive collection of folk tunes compiled by the Norwegian composer and organist Ludvig Lindeman. This charming little set features six of them: three lively dances and three contrasting songs, each from a different region of Norway as indicated under the titles. The three dances are full of rhythmic energy, whereas the songs are more lyrical and expressive. Gorgeous little pieces for a mixed ability group, with plenty to challenge the higher grades and the optional Flute 5 part easy enough for a Grade 1-2 player.
