The Singing Fish was commissioned by Gillian Blair. The first performance was given by Gillian Blair and David Gibson at the European Saxophone Congress in Porto in 2017. I was drawn to the rebellious exuberance of Joan Miro?s painting The Singing Fish. It is colourful and bold, radiating a great sense of fun, whilst also being slightly strange.
