“An essential purchase?”
The combination of popular classical music (Bizet), a very skilful arranger (Mel Orriss), C flutes only and a part suitable for beginners makes this as near to an essential purchase as it's possible to be. An even greater advantage is that each of the six arrangements can stand alone. Value for money? Without doubt!
From the Publisher
Six pieces taken from Carmen, Jeus d'Enfants, and the L'Arlésienne Suites. A really contrasting selection of Bizet's most famous music, from the excitment of the Toreador's Song to the famous Menuet flute solo from L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2 (in an easier key!) These arrangements are ideal for introducing well known classical pieces to early grade ensemble players. The optional Flute 5 part is suitable for beginners, with the difficulty level rising to around Grade 5 for the 1st Flute. Where appropriate time signatures have been altered and rhythmic writing simplified to make the pieces ,pre accessible for the less advanced players.
