The gently rippling accompaniment and flowing flute melody combine to make one of the most famous and beautiful pieces for flute. Should be in every flute player's repertoire.
The included flute duet is the special feature of this edition, allowing the work to be performed by 2 equal flutes with or without a piano. This especially helps students to master the rhythm [e.g at the end of bar 3 and in bar 12] by seeing how their melody fits with the accompaniment. For contextual awareness, the play-along mp3 has orchestral sounds.
*The duet version [5pp] has the solo for player 1, plus the accompaniment compressed into a single line for a second flute player.
