Show Tunes is a surefire crowd-pleaser. The 3 movements have echos of broadway in them. The first is a French-sounding tune, "oohlala!", which modulates amusingly. The middle movement, "If only..." is like the "I want" number in a show ("Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is a famous "I want" song). The finale is all razzle dazzle. The piece is not technically difficult, although it sounds that way.
