- Interesting, worth a look
From the Publisher
The five movements of Shepherd's Music were composed in 1982 for three amateur woodwind players who met at regular intervals. Each instrument remains independent, is of a melodious character and contributes to the thematic construction. The movements may also be performed separately. The work is influenced by themes from folkloric music, the finale by the old English Christmas carol 'The First Nowell'. Apart frpm the instrumentation with three flutes, the composition - originally called Fanfares and Shepherd's Songs - can also be played with other instruments of the same pitch and register.
