From the Publisher
Shepherd's Hey is thought to be one of the oldest morris dances, and the tune was used by Percy Grainger for an exuberant piano piece. In this arrangement the flutes are split into two groups which play antiphonally, gradually encroaching on each other's territory untill they join together for a great whoop of joy at the end.
