From the Publisher
The vivacious and tuneful scherzo from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral” fits well for flute choir, here skillfully arranged for 4 C flutes plus alto, bass and contrabass flutes, by Anthony McDonald. The subtitle translates to “festival gathering of peasants” and the music clearly conveys joyous dancing and celebration. This lively piece is an excellent opener or closer for any program, and is well paired with “Pretty Maid” from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, also available from Falls House Press.
