Antonio De Angelis is a pianist, composer, transcriber, and arranger or classical, jazz, and light music. He graduated with top honours in Piano from the L. Cherubini Conservatory in Florence under the guidance of Lucia Passaglia and in Jazz Music from the A. Casella Conservatory in L'Aquila with Paolo Damiani.
In 2001, he recorded the album PHOTOS with the Three TONO for the label Sculture d'Aria. In 2005, he recorded and self-produced SWINGIN' MOZART, modernizing some of the most famous pieces by W.A. Mozart. In 2006, he composed and recorded CANTATA DI PASQUA for children's choir, string quartet, and jazz ensemble, drawn from the musical comedy EMMAUS, with texts by Sandro Bernabei.
In 2007, he produced and self-released two CDs: BELLA DONNA, a pop-jazz album where he also appears as singer and songwriter of all the tracks; and Swingin' Christmas, which features traditional Christmas songs arranged for string quartet and was included with the daily newspaper LA CRONACA D'ABRUZZO in Chieti. Sottovoce is the title of his latest album, with arrangements for jazz quartet, published in 2016 by M.A.P. Editions S.r.l. in Milan.
As a skilled pianist, arranger and composer, De Angelis stood out in several competitions, reaching the finals at the 7th International Jazz Composition and Arrangement Competition in Sassari; the finals at the 4th National Competition for Light Music Arrangers, "Pippo Barzizza" in 2003 in Sanremo; the finals in the Jazz Music section at TIM, the International Music Tournament in 2006; and winning the First Edition of the "Roland Piano Festival" in 2006 in Milan.
Currently, he is a faculty member at the G. Misticoni Dance High School in Pescara, serving as a Dance Master Collaborator.
