“The' wow' factor!”
Nicole Chamberlain is a great writer of flute choir pieces that use contemporary techniques and this is another really good example. The 3/4 - 6/8 time signatures, moderate note ranges and the sensible tempo mean that it all looks very approachable on the page. Putting it together like this will not be so difficult, so the fun lies in adding in the jet whistles, pitch bends, beatbox sounds and foot stamps that add the musical character without disruption to the rhythm. This needs patience but the end result will be a performance with that elusive 'wow' factor!
