“A great Valerie Coleman flute trio!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
Valerie Coleman writes like the wonderful flute player she is, and this trio does not disappoint. It really grabs the attention right from the start with a 'fast rip' cascade of notes. Textural rather than tuneful, the whole piece is a rhythmically strong, the note ranges moderate and the extended techniques easily absorbed, so the focus will be on making sure that the interweaving individual lines are balanced well. It's great to tackle such well written flute music and it will certainly enhance any performance.
From the Publisher
Ruby St. (Street) Nola is a homage to the ‘bon temps’ of New Orleans nightlife. The work is colorful and should be performed with jazz/soulful articulations in mind.
