This work was written in 2008 in memory of Adolfo Salazar and dedicated to the Conservatory that bears his name. The title is a memory of the most famous composition by Salazar, but it does not directly take materials nor the underlying poems by Omar Khayyam. I have kept the idea of the short poem and the work consists of seven chained pieces not very long. The score uses the cello and three wind instruments: flute, oboe and clarinet. The cello doesn't act as a solo instrument, but rather as a relatively dominant one. The entire play takes place around the timbral differences and colors, suggesting an abstract poetic evocation.Item Details
