Romanian Dance by Gay Kahkonen for Flute Choir. Commissioned for the 2019 Mid-Atlantic High School Flute Choir. A slow introduction, almost improvisatory in nature, leads to a quick dance, punctuated by motives introduced at the beginning of the piece. A faster and more frenetic dance in mixed meter brings the piece to a close, shifting quickly and unpredictably between 2/4, 3/4 and 5/8.
