From the Publisher
The Renaissance Album fills several gaps in the literature for flute ensembles. There is much music available from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th Century periods of music history, but very little from the Renaissance. This large album of 17 quartets covers practically the entire Renaissance and is a valuable resource for school and college ensemble libraries , as well as amateur and professional flute choirs. The polyphonic compositonal techniques of the Renaissance are unlike those of any other period in musical history and will offer a great programming contrast to the more widely known compositions of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras.
