“Lovely and very useful!”

Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
If you are a lover of tuneful music for alto flute and piano, this is for you! Roz Trubger's very appealing arrangement shows off the alto really well. The tune floats above a supportive accompaniment made up of either flowing arpeggios or block chords and both parts are easily approachable. Attractive and useful - just what you need!

From the Publisher

This is a lovely piece of music with beautiful harmonies, and I am delighted to have come across another interesting composer, whose work I had not previously known. Jāzeps Vītols [aka Joseph Wihtol] was a Latvian composer, who studied in Russia as a pupil of Rimsky Korsakov and where he himself became a professor at the Conservatory in St. Petersburg and taught Prokofiev. On returning to Latvia in 1918, he founded the Latvian Conservatory of Music, which was later renamed in his honour as the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music.
