Roz Trubger is a skillful arranger and here she has delivered a great book of quartets for fledgling flute players. The choice of repertoire might appear to be novel but the easy keys and rhythms of these great tunes really lend themselves to a proper focus on ensemble playing. This is made easier by ensuring that there is always an element of unity between at least two of the parts which works very successfully. It also introduces less experienced players to the music of Rachmaninov earlier than might otherwise be the case and that's a real bonus!
