Our Description

Philipp Hammig piccolos are our biggest-selling conservatoire-level piccolo. They have a well-centred warm tone, accurate tuning, and a flexibility of tone. Includes Jan Junker headjoint.

This piccolo has previously belonged to Eva Stewart.

Manufacturer's Description

Hammig piccolos, acclaimed for their rich, deep tonal character, are crafted of the finest seasoned African grenadilla wood. The Hammig scale provides the ideal balance between intonation and ease of response throughout all registers, and is offered at our standard pitch of A=442. Hammig's ergonomically designed key mechanism features comfortably offset G keys and a large G# lever.

Jan Junker

Jan Junker was born in Sweden, and studied flute in his home town of Sandefjord, Norway before moving to study at the Conservatory of Music in Oslo with Professor Torkil Bye and then the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Freiburg,Germany with Professor Robert Aitken.

Jan is currently a professional flute and piccolo player, having worked with many of Europe's leading orchestras. He has been making flutes and headjoints for many years. 

General Condition

This piccolo has been recently overhauled by Jennifer George in Manchester but has been through our workshop prior to sale and is in good condition. There are a few marks on the metal headjoint but these are cosmetic and won't affect the sound.
