The EX model is our most economical flute, yet it offers the same high quality Muramatsu workmanship you will find on our higher priced models. The hand-cut, solid silver headjoint on this attractive instrument is carefully cut and matched to a silver clad body and key mechanism, the same reliable key mechanism used on our most expensive flutes.

Our Description

Muramatsu are the oldest Japanese flute company, established in 1923. They have always had strong support from prestigious players around the world. The EX model is a premium intermediate flute, with Muramatsu's unique rich, velvety sound and outstanding mechanism.

General Condition

This flute has been through our workshop prior to sale and has been throughly checked over and cleaned throughout. It is in immaculate condition. There are a couple of very tiny scratches on the body but these can hardly be seen and are only cosmetic.

About Muramatsu

When, in 1923 Koichi Muramatsu began manufacturing Western concert flutes in Japan, the instrument was virtually unknown there: the population of flute players in Japan consisted of around 20 amateur and professional flautists, and the sound of the flute was almost entirely new to Japan.

As Muramatsu introduced the flute to Japan, the popularity of the instrument rose and the company grew. By the 1970s Muramatsu had established itself as the flute of choice for professionals and amateurs across the world. Many of these flutes are still going strong and sound as beautiful as they did back then, while Muramatsu - still family-owned - have continued developing their flutes to maintain their market-leading position.
