Vintage Louis Lot Solid Flute with Arista Headjoint #13XX
Our Description
NOTES FROM WIBB:
Note 1:
1366 sems to have a good scale at A443, with 4148/315 pushed in all the way - THIS COULD BE VERY USEFUL! (or with 31 bis pulled 2.0mm)
C# still needs improving!
Trill hholes are far too high! C-C# utterly wrong!
22 Jan 2020. This plays vry well @441 pulled out only 1mm! With a lovely focused sound. Perhaps C natural is a tiny bit too high. But ended up pulled out 3.5mm.
1 Feb. Tried quite a bit @443 - seems as if B natural is high (?) but this has good sound when covering.
03 April, this plays very encouragingly with 315/4148 pulled out to 5.5mm (441) and foot out 1mm. I have a suspicion that B natural and C natural are slightly sharp.
1366 25 May @443 - After a while I find this very good @ pulled 6.5, and I only have to lift the B a mite to get a good 5th from E, so maybe this is the equal temperament comma! (??) (have resisted temptation to varve anything out of B - ! (can manage) Now managing 443 pulled out 7.0mm very comfortably :)
Note 2:
1366 25 May (mon) 2020 @443 pulled 7.5mm with 315 bis head.
Would like initially the G# to be a tad higher ??? Fixed on A I next find B natural a trifle low & C natural (could easily get rid of a little CS there) (now pulled to 6.5)
Comp E I also find B natural a tad low.
After a while I now feel that this continuation is really V.G for 443 (treattreat my first comment with extreme suspicion!) (Now pulled to 7.00)
General Condition
This flute is considerably used and has a few markings added by WIBB.
