About H. Bettoney
The English flautist and clarinettist Harry Bettoney moved to the USA in 1893, and purchased the Wurlitzer and Cundy companies. His early flutes, made in Boston, were made for pro players and were in direct competitors with Haynes. He eventually moved his focus to student instruments and was briefly the largest woodwind maker in the US.
