Pop Rounds for 3-4 Flutes [Playing score(s)]
- Great for teachers
From the Publisher
In his comprehensive works, Manfred Schmitz has also published small canon compositions under the title “Pop Rounds”. Volume 1 contains 2-part canons, and volume 2 contains 3 and 4-part canons. Like the compositions in “A Little Pop Music” and “Pop Romance”, these pop pieces are scored for the violin, viola, cello and flute and can be combined, depending on the instruments available for the lesson.
There is only one version for the violin part, while a universal version and an individual version have been notated for the other instruments. The individual version has been scored in unison with the violin part. In this version pupils will learn melodic progressions. In the universal version the melodies are scored to the appropriate key. While the 2-part canons progress from simple to advanced, the compositions in the 3 and 4-part canons provide greater musical variety and are primarily aimed at groups and ensembles.
The two volumes, with a total of 109 canons in various versions, represent together a comprehensive collection of playing material for individual, group or ensemble teaching, which offer the opportunity for lots of fun in making music together and offer as well an entertaining way to develop the human and musical abilities of listening to and reacting to one another and also to playing more precisely on the pupils' own instruments.
