Our Description
This edition helps to close one of the last gaps with reference to the new edition of Kuhlau's flute music. The publisher Paté called this collection of fashionable dances Les Perles ravissantes - enchanting charming pearls. They represent what was en vogue in Paris around 1850: waltzes, (German) polkas and mazurkas, also the redowa, a dance of Czech origin which was about to conquer the salons. The composers and their biographical data are for the major part unknown today.
