“For everyone!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
This book is principally aimed at young players but in fact everyone can benefit from playing theses short contemporary technique studies. Covering everything from free rhythms to multiphonics there are plenty of new skills to learn which will complement more familiar practice exercises. Each one has a note explaining the nature of the challenge and suggestions on how to practice them. It's a fun book even if it doesn't look it!
From the Publisher
This is a study book that aims to introduce younger players to contemporary techniques. Each of the 24 short studies is accompanied by an outline of the difficulties to be encountered, an explanation of unfamiliar terms and signs, and also some performance suggestions. The studies are also cross-referenced with others having the same type of content. Topics covered include complex rhythms, glissandi, harmonics, multiphonics, and microtones. By the end of the book contemporary notation looks commonplace. Highly recommended.
