“Lovely music for a lovely combination”
These three short pieces really showcase the wonderful sonorities that this combination of instruments can produce. On the Temple Stairs has an elusive alto melody accompanied by moving guitar semiquavers. Fruits and Flowers by contrast has another beautiful tune, this time with more flowing and gentler quavers. And Now for Some Dancing is much more lively with a Spanish and jazz influences. It's all lovely!

Offerings by American composer Gary Schocker for Alto Flute and Guitar was commissioned by flutist Jenny Cline and guitarist Carlos Cuestas to be performed at the International Low Flutes Festival in Tokyo in March 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the premiere was delayed by nearly three years and then took place at the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention in Herndon, Virginia in February 2023.
