The Nutcracker is a must at Christmas and this set of ten of the best tunes is perfect for the time of year. Specifically aimed at classical musicians these arrangements deliver a very good representation of the original and some are really quite challenging! Chinese Dance and Mirlitons are simply abridged versions of the orchestral first flute part, Miniature Overture and Waltz of the Flowers have a bit of everything and the rest capture the essence of Tchaikovsky's writing. Pianists have fun too with the celeste part from Sugar Plum Fairy and the harp in the Pas de Deux. There is a downloadable version of the accompaniment which makes this ideal for solo players too. A great book - one for Santa's list perhaps?
