“Another Excellent Volume”
This is another excellent volume of short pieces from Hilary Taggart. As usual with her writing there is a technical challenge attached to each one. Both Autumn Leaves and the Partita alternate varying time signatures, which allows the music to swirl around in the former and pack a funky punch in the latter. Zephyr and After the Rainstorm require a good control of sound and the final My Dog Has Fleas tests both fingers and articulation. The whole book works really well on the alto (not to mention the bass!) and would also make a good book of advanced sightreading. Altogether excellent value!

An album of original, solo pieces, of which almost all can be played on either the flute, or alto flute. These pieces present technical and tonal challenges, which may make them useful study material. This music was written in response to a request from Peter Sheridan.
