This book works on two levels. It can be used as a straight study book but it also doubles as a fantastic all-round warm up routine. Each one tackles a specific technique so it is possible to isolate and work on a single technique but if you can cover several in one go all the basics are covered. Hilary Taggart is an imaginative composer and she really knows her way around the flute. The result is pieces that are well written for the instrument and interesting to play. That is gold dust!
