Native American Suite is an impressionistic suite of four visions. The opening Incantation sets the stage, before diving into the “spirited” Spirit Dance. The calm, quiet cool of Hidden Spring leads into Harvest Time, a dance of shifting time and rhythm. Schocker expects the full range of skills and dynamics in the fl ute part, but the piano part takes equal billing. A 6 minute program piece for an advanced duo.
