“Very useful whether or not you participate in Music Medals”
This is a very useful book whether or not you participate in Music Medals. The Options in question are
- call and response
- make a tune
- question and answer
- sightreading
and although these are of course seamlessly integrated into every lesson, it's nice sometimes to have a little backup. The material is organised progressively through the Music Medal stages and it's value I think is more in terms of the ideas it generates rather than in the actual exercises given. As with all AB publications, it's very well laid out with loads of background information for those taking the test. And when you're done with this perhaps you could move onto to the equally stimulating Musicanship in Practice books!
